Contemporary glass art
Anna Alsina Bardagí is a contemporary glass artist based in Barcelona (Spain). She explores the manipulation of light, heat, and gravity through optical glass, combining kiln casting techniques with optical-precision polishing.
Glass casting process
Each optical glass sculpture is a unique creation that takes months to complete and involves several stages and techniques. From idea conception to mold making, pieces are fired in a kiln for over two weeks following a 14-stage temperature monitoring system to ensure uniform cooling. Once the firing process is completed, pieces undergo multiple polishing stages to reach optical transparency.
